Microsclerotherapy is the treatment of thread veins, spider veins or broken capillaries. Thread veins or telangiectasia are small superficial veins, frequently found in the legs, caused by weak vascular walls and an inefficient circulation. Around 1 in 4 women are thought to have small but visible red, blue or purple lines under the surface of the skin.
Microsclerotherapy involves the injection of 'Fibrovein' a sterile chemical into blood vessels using a small needle. This causes an inflammation and irritation which causes the vessel to shrink, collapse, harden and eventually fade away to resolve the cosmetic problem.
